On October 7th, Duke Spirits launched The Masters Music Series as a way to showcase and support emerging and established artists. Hosted by Runaway June’s Jennifer Wayne, the series brings together accomplished groups of musicians and writers, culminating with the weekly release of two videos on Duke Spirits’ YouTube channel.
The choice of Jennifer Wayne as series host was an obvious one, being the granddaughter of the man who inspired not only the spirits carrying his namesake but also this new live performance series. “My goal for The Masters Music Series was to create a sound which ‘The Duke’ himself would approve of,” says Producer Austin Moody, co-creator along with Executive Producer and Duke Spirits Founder Chris Radomski. “As a man who valued quality and character, we had to make sure this sounded like we were making a record. To back each artist, I handpicked musicians who have a ‘thing,’ something that no one can truly recreate but those players themselves. It’s not only the playing you have to think about, it’s the attitude – it’s the grit.”
Since its premiere episode featuring Eric Paslay and Paul McDonald, The Masters Music Series has featured Wynonna Judd, Craig Campbell, Marcus Hummon, Jake Rose, Josh Shilling, and Levi Hummon. The next installment showcases Caroline Jones, premiering today exclusively with The Country Note.
Throughout her career, Caroline has opened for some of music’s biggest names including Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, Jake Owen, Trisha Yearwood, The Eagles, OneRepublic, Jimmy Buffett and the Zac Brown Band. In 2017, she released her debut album Bare Feet via Buffet’s Mailboat Records which included the single “Gulf Coast Girl” featuring Buffett while her opening spot turned Special Guest status on ZBB’s 2021 and 2022 tours. Earlier this year, Caroline featured an all-female Bluegrass band on her single “Being A Woman (Is Like Being The Sun)” and recently joined singer/songwriter Jeremy McComb on his track “Back Before I Knew Ya.” For The Master Music Series, Caroline performs her original song “Someone Who Wasn’t You” from her sophomore album Antipodes.
