Multi-platinum country music singer/songwriter and ASCAP Song of the Year Award winner (“Somewhere On The Beach”); both titles belong to that of Josh Mirenda who kicked off the singer part of his career in 2018 with the release of his debut single “I Got You” off his self-titled EP. Earlier this year Mirenda continued to pave his new path when he released “‘Til The Neon’s Gone” which he co-wrote with hit-songwriters Jon Nite and Ashley Gorley. Today, the Nashville native is premiering the lyric video for his latest single “Mile A Minute” – a co-write with Gorley, Rhett Akins, and Will Weatherly – exclusively with The Country Note.
Moments in life can feel like they’re going by a mile a minute – and that’s pretty much how fast this song came about: “’Mile A Minute’ was the second or third song we did that day,” says Mirenda. “Will had the title…Ashley looked at Will and said turn the mic on and literally freestyles the first verse and chorus. That is word for word and note for note what we did. I wrote the second verse on the golf chorus one day and we all added little tweaks here and there. Not the “normal” way to write a song but it worked!”
Reflecting the lyrics of the song, the video features images of cars and highways with headlights speeding by, emulating a mile a minute. Watch the Exclusive Premiere of the “Mile A Minute” lyric video below:

In addition to Dierks Bentley recording “Somewhere On The Beach,” songs written by Mirenda have gone on to be cut by Parmalee, Colt Ford and Jason Aldean, including the hit title track off They Don’t Know. Over the years, Mirenda has shared the stage with country artists such as Easton Corbin, Chris Young, Rodney Atkins, and Dylan Scott.
