Today, country legends The Oak Ridge Boys deliver their ode to moms with the release of Mama’s Boys – an album of specifically selected songs that pay tribute to mothers and all strong women for their love, support, and their important place in our lives. While some of the tracks have mama right in the song title such as “That’s The Way Mama Made It” and “Mama Sang For Me”, others address a mother’s love as well as our love for our mothers in a more symbolic way, such as “Divine Witness“ premiering exclusively with The Country Note.
Written by Aaron Raitiere and Dave Cobb, “Divine Witness” is an impeccable choice as a closer for this album. The lyrics speak of being a divine witness to the works of faith which can also be looked upon as an analogy for the power and unconditional love of a mother or strong woman in one’s life:
I am a divine witness
I have seen things that only faith can explain
Like the power of love and forgiveness
Oh I am a divine witness
Thank Heaven for Heaven on Earth
For her hand on my heart when it hurts
For the miracles made every day
Once you open your arms and believe
