Exclusive Premiere: Wreckless Strangers “Ain’t No Thing” Lyric Video

On March 4th, Wreckless Strangers released their unique version of “Ain’t No Thing,” the second single off their upcoming album When the Sun and a Blue Star Collide. The John Scott Sherrill and Chris Stapleton penned track was originally recorded by Bucky Covington, but it was upon hearing Wynona & The Big Noise live performance that the sextet realized they needed put their stamp on the song with their own ‘California Country Soul.’ Today, the Bay Area natives are releasing the official lyric video, premiering exclusively with The Country Note.

It’s an attitude,” says Joshua Zucker, bassist and vocalist who joins bandmate Amber Morris on the track. “A way of life. Words to live by! This song came to us by way of Wynonna (Judd) and the Big Noise – sort of a case of set and setting, hearing that one out on the lawn at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2016. We learned later that it came to Wynonna by way of American Idol alum Bucky Covington, and imagine our delightful surprise to learn that it was actually written by Nashville studs John Scott Sherrill and Chris Stapleton. Ain’t no thing indeed!”

“This one plays and sings itself,” continues Zucker. “A breakup/rebound song about how sometimes the best revenge is just to walk on and live better. And all the excuse you need to dust off those boots and find your way to the dance floor. Amber slays it, I have a ton of fun singing and filming it with her, the fellas make it jam like crazy, and whatever that thing is that Mick is hitting the snare drum with gives it a vibe all its own. Infectious! Why didn’t I write that!?”
