Magnolia Rising: Some names are branding. This one is a sentence.
Magnolia Rising is Devynn Hart and Trea Swindle — cousins, Mississippi-born, and the half of Chapel Hart that kept writing after the trio hit pause. Chapel Hart kicked the door with a Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent, “You Can Have Him Jolene,” and stages that went well past the county line. When that chapter closed, they didn’t vanish. They renamed the work.
The magnolia is home. The rising is the point.
And around here? We’re obsessed. We cannot get enough of “Bet On Me.” Put it on once and it stays in the truck.
Their sound still sits where country storytelling meets gospel soul and a little rock volume. The singles tell the plot out loud: “Dream Running” is the chase. “Hit the Ground Running” — written with Bandana Cheyenna — is what you do after you fall. “Bet On Me” is the moment you stop waiting for somebody else to believe it first. “Let’s Get Away” keeps the engine on.
They’ve already been in these pages for “Hit the Ground Running.” Day 15 of TCN’s Spotlight Sessions is the longer sit-down with Chris Ramos — why the duo exists, what the name carries, and where the music goes next.
Watch the Spotlight Session on our YouTube. Stream the songs. Start with “Bet On Me.” We’ll wait.
