It’s been quite a 2022 for reigning Texas Regional Radio’s “Female Artist of the Decade” Bri Bagwell. As she continues her rise in country music with another nod for Female Artist of the Year for this year’s Texas Country Music Association Awards, Bagwell is set to release her upcoming album Corazón y Cabeza, (Heart and Head) on August 26. Last month she released the album’s debut single “Free Man” to high praise and today premieres the song’s acoustic video exclusively with The Country Note.
“We filmed this with AJ and Omar Vallejo at 512 Studios in Austin, TX.,” says Bagwell. “This song is super fun to play live, especially with Paul Eason on guitar and my pup sleeping on the floor just out of view.”
Check out the exclusive acoustic video premiere for “Free Man” below:
“Free Man” was inspired by Bagwell’s civic duty as juror, imagining the accused swapped with someone who did her wrong: “I got selected for jury duty earlier this year,” she explained in a recent press release. “As we deliberated the verdict I daydreamed, ‘what if I could put an ex-boyfriend through this process with a judge, jury and sentence?’ I could finally present my case about all of his wrongdoings!”
