Mature beyond her 16 years, Hillary Reese began growing her fanbase when she started posting videos on Facebook at the age of 8. As that following grew to 300,000m it set the course to Nashville where she’s traveled back and forth from her home state of Mississippi to work with some of the industry’s biggest names including Kent Wells (Dolly Parton’s producer). Summer of 2022 brought the release of her latest single “All the Good Ones are Crazy,” and today she premieres the official music video exclusively with The Country Note.
Co-written by Reese, Josh Courson and Jason Hamor, “All the Good Ones are Crazy” was produced by former member of Little Texas Jeff Huskins. “I knew Jeff through someone in the industry named Brian Agee,” recalls Reese. “Jeff and I immediately clicked, and I knew that I wanted to work with him. This song has that old vibe, and I knew I wanted to bring that to life, so I really stressed that to the band. The recording process was so fun because everyone was just so comfortable with each other and knew exactly what they were supposed to do, so we all could relax a little. I hope the listeners understand that it’s okay to embrace where you come from and love your family, even if it’s a little different from others!”
Filming the single’s official video gave Reese another chance to work with director Forrest Proctor: “I knew Forrest because he had shot a previous show for me, and he did great! I knew that he was really passionate about what he did, so that really made me want to work with him. I had the concept together, but we needed a few things added. Forrest helped make it happen. He came up with several ideas and made the process super exciting.”
Reese made sure to keep the video true to the hometown girl she is by filming in her hometown: “The video was filmed in my hometown at the local senior citizens building and laundromat, surprisingly. All of the characters in the video were the real people and their real names were used in the song, so everyone is really getting a good inside look at my family.”
