The 10th Annual Country Music Alberta Awards was quite the night for Ryan Lindsay. On Sunday, the Alberta Prairies native took home the awards for the Horizon Male Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for his incredible release The Ride and today The Country Note is proud to exclusively premiere the final video of his acoustic performance series featuring the album’s title track.
“When I was preparing to go into the studio for this album, I was two days out, and still felt like I was missing something,” says Lindsay. “One more song to sum up the way I was feeling about the year, and one more chance to leave my audience with a reflection. I sat down in the morning to write, and at the end of the day, I had my title track.”
A wonderful and uplifting track, “The Ride” delivers exactly what Lindsay was aiming for. The lyrics address a friend who has tackled some issues and while they still have as few obstacles to climb, they must remember to enjoy the journey along the way; a very important lesson for us all to enjoy each day no matter what may surround us:
I hope the wind is at your back and time is on your side
I hope the line on your map takes you to where you want in life
You might miss the trail when you finally arrive
So I hope that you enjoy The Ride
