Four videos into Ryan Lindsay‘s acoustic performance series of his intimate album The Ride, the Alberta native delivers an incredible performance of the album’s first track “You Love That Guitar More Than Me” premiering today with The Country Note.
From the first note, this Keith Whitley-esque tune oozes emotion that plucks at one’s heartstrings in a way that only a country song can. Lindsay’s remarkable classic vocals delivers the aching lyrics in true country fashion, telling the tale of how one’s passion and dedication to music affects those who love them, pushing them to their limit:
She said ‘you love that guitar more than me’
Been holding on to all them songs you sing.
Been pouring all you’ve got into them strings
She said you love that guitar more than me
“I think this song speaks for itself,” says Lindsay. “It’s about the music grind, and one of its big challenges. I thought it would be cool to introduce the album with a stripped-down, unedited acoustic track, so this ended up being the first song on the record.”

Acoustic performance videos for “Hill To Die On,” “Darlin’ You’re Classic” and “Better Now” were previously released. The fifth video of this series will be released at a later date.
