Nashville Album Release Show On October 28
Ahead Of November Fall Tour With Kaitlin Butts

Today, Fancy Hagood releases his new single Ever Really Ready,” the opening song of his upcoming sophomore album American Spirit (October 25). Written while he was on a solo tour following a tough breakup earlier this year, the song reflects Fancy’s journey towards resilience, healing and growth. “Ever Really Ready” is an anthem for those who have made it to the other side of heartache and discovered there are still new versions of themselves left to behold.

Fancy has also announced a special album release show on October 28 at Nashville’s American Legion. Pre-sale is this Thursday and on-sale is Friday, more info available HERE.

Fancy on the new single: “The opening song of the album turns out to be the last song written and recorded at the 11th hour of making this record. I went through my first real break up in April 2024 and immediately hit the road solo for a tour. This song is so special to me, because it tells the story of finding connection, keeping your heart open, and the surprise adventure that found me only a couple months after such a devastating moment in my personal life. I had the feeling of serendipity while on the road making new connections. I found out that who I was on the other side of heartache was actually a version of myself I had never met before. It was a gift for me to discover that side of myself!”

“Ever Really Ready” follows Fancy’s other recent singles – the delicate country love song “Losing Game,” the bittersweet “Good Grief” and the aptly-titled boot stomper “Through.” A community-forward project, American Spirit is brimming with the kind of truth and vulnerability that emerges in the company of close, trusted collaborators. The album also features guest vocals from Michelle Branch and Nickel Creek’s Sean and Sara Watkins, as well as songs produced by John Osborne (The Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBryde’s Lindeville), Jarrad K (Ruston Kelly’s Dying Star) and Jeremy Lutitio (Joy Oladokun, Devon Gilfillian), and co-writes with Caitlyn SmithMindy SmithSean McConnell and Mary Steenburgen.

Fancy moved to Nashville at just 17 years old with a dream of becoming an openly queer country artist, but that dream was quickly shot down, and after a detour that took him to the Los Angeles pop scene and on the road opening for Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande, he finally found himself fully embraced by this community with his 2021 full-length debut Southern Curiosity. Since then, Fancy has garnered praise from Rolling Stone and People, been called an “artist to watch” by Brandi Carlile, and collaborated with Kacey Musgraves on his 2022 single “Blue Dream Baby,” which prompted Elton John to declare “We need more people like Fancy.” He has been named a member of CMT’s 2024 Listen Up Class, nominated for GLAAD’s Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist Award, and guested on Orville Peck’s new duets album Stampede. He also recently released his own 5-song duets EP, Smothered, Covered & Fried, featuring collaborations with She Returns From War, Jamie Wyatt, TJ Osborne, The Kentucky Gentlemen and Brooke Eden.

Following shows this year with Orville Peck, Joy Oladokun and Maggie Rose, Fancy will hit the road this fall supporting Kaitlin Butts in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and more. See a full list of tour dates below, and at this link: fancyhagood.com/tour
