“I know that I will never be able to say thank enough to either one of my parents for everything they have done for me. My dad was the kind of dad that never missed a game or practice! He was always pushing me to be the best that I could be in whatever I set my mind to. I think Father’s Day is just a great way show appreciation to the role models who helped us get to where we are today!” – Chris Bandi
On Father’s Day, we show the men in our families how much we love them and appreciate their sacrifices, their support throughout our lives – from baseball games and ballet recitals, to learning how to ride a bike (with then without training wheels), learning how to drive, and more. Those who no longer have their family’s patriarchs, we not only reflect on how much we love and miss them, but also how much we know they are still here with us and how they would feel about certain moments and people who have come into our lives. Last year, country singer Chris Bandi released his emotional single “Would Have Loved Her” in honor of his late grandfather whom he knows would have loved his girlfriend. Bandi explains in this behind-the-song video about how he approached co-writer and friend Zach Kale with the idea for the song, only to find out that Zach also had a special woman in his life whom a beloved family member was never able to meet.
