BUZZED-ABOUT LEAD SINGLE RACES INTO TOP 20 AT COUNTRY RADIO
“UP DOWN” COLLABORATION WITH MORGAN WALLEN SOARS TO #1
NASHVILLE, TENN. — Global entertainers FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE keep it “Simple” with the release of a brand new music video for the lighthearted roots-infused lead single off their hotly anticipated fourth studio album (BMLG Records). Fans can watch the full clip now.
Filmed at Nashville’s historic plantation house Travellers Rest, director Justin Clough collaborated with creative visionaries Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard to depict a love story for the ages. Donning period clothing, FGL provides the ideal score for the lead couple’s on-screen romance illuminating a sparked memory of a yesteryear courtship narrated by a grandfather to his grandsons.
“’Simple’ felt just right to start our next chapter and I’m so proud of this video,” Hubbard shares. “The ease in this song, this storyline, it’s all so reflective of where we are right now in our own lives…enjoying the little – and simple – things.”
Kelley adds, “With this feel-good tune, we’re going back to basics…the stripped-down roots. We’re so excited that fans are vibing with its simple nature.”
Penned by Hubbard and Kelley along with Michael Hardy and Mark Holman, the music video perfectly matches the open-range musicality complete with the whistling hooks and rolling banjos. Mixing Western undertones with beating-hearts rhythm, “Simple” is currently surging Country radio at Top 20-and-climbing.
Likewise, the homespun melody is also capturing the toe-tapping attention of critics, with reviewers applauding:
“’SIMPLE’-Y IRRESISTIBLE” – Billboard
“The clear, uncluttered production and innocent,
catchy-as-can-be song are both fabulously refreshing.” – MusicRow Magazine
“…starting a new chapter in FGL history…” – CMT
“…rootsy, organic side of their sound…” – Rolling Stone
“…delivered one of the likely biggest hits of the summer…” – Taste of Country
As “arguably the biggest duo in country music since Brooks & Dunn” (Associated Press), FGL continues to crush colossal feats as they’re the first act to top Billboard’s Country Airplay (Morgan Wallen’s “Up Down” featuring FGL), Country Digital Song Sales (“Simple”), and Country Streaming Songs (“Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha), with a different song on each chart. All three are also currently Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with their fated “Meant to Be” reigning for the 30th consecutive week.
Taking home Play It Again! – Radio Disney Country Favorite Song for “Meant to Be” at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards, plus up for three nods: Choice Country Song – Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line (“Meant to Be”), Choice Collaboration – Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line (“Meant to Be”), and Choice Music Group at Teen Choice 2018 on August 12, FGL is appearing at major music festivals this summer.
