Superstar Duo Keeps Their Momentum Hot With Performances Of Chart-Topping “H.O.L.Y.”
On Good Morning America + The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Early Rave Reviews Praise Highly Anticipated Third Studio Album Available Now
Nashville, Tenn. – Fueling their highly anticipated DIG YOUR ROOTS album release on BMLG Records yesterday (8/26), groundbreaking duo Florida Georgia Line nailed three major TV appearances this week – ABC’s Good Morning America 2016 Summer Concert Series as well as NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and TODAY.
Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley took both GMA and The Tonight Show to church with spirited performances of their 16-week #1 “H.O.L.Y.” on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. They also showed off their playful side late night during a hilarious game called “Musical Beers.” Facing off against Fallon, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), and Tig Notaro (One Mississippi), the fierce competitors challenged each other to an “adult” version of musical chairs where red Solo cups were used in place of the chairs.
In addition to taping their new single, “May We All,” exclusively for GMA’s website, FGL also treated early morning viewers to a surprise sneak peek of the hair-raising music video’s world premiere. Successful actor and Country icon Tim McGraw is featured in both the one-of-a-kind mini-movie and on the track. The cinematic thrill-ride also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage shot in 360° virtual reality technology. The official full-length debut is Monday, August 29 at 8 p.m. ET on the FGL YouTube channel.
To cap off their NYC media blitz, FGL performed for a sold-out crowd Thursday night (8/25) at the Theater at Madison Square Garden as part of Anheuser-Busch One Night Only concert series, a joint initiative between The Madison Square Garden Company and the brewer.
Already catapulting to #1 on iTunes Top Albums (all genre) and Country Albums charts, early rave reviews are flooding in for DIG YOUR ROOTS with enthusiastic praise:
“Musically as well as lyrically, Dig Your Roots reflects FGL’s willingness to explore a bit more, even if it means deviating from current country formula.” – USA Today
“And the heart of Dig Your Roots isn’t Saturday-night revelry, it’s Sunday morning; songs about loving God, your dear old dad, your wife and kids, and, on the appealingly burly title track, all of the above.” – Rolling Stone
“On Dig Your Roots, Hubbard and Kelley maintain the fun but also show a surprising depth that is more than welcomed.” – Sounds Like Nashville
“With deeply personal lyrics over the signature sound that put them on the map, Dig Your Roots is essentially Kelley and Hubbard to the core.” – CMT
DIG YOUR ROOTS also showcases special collaborations with FGL’s early musical influences – the Backstreet Boys and reggae star Ziggy Marley. Watch Hubbard and Kelley chat about these all-star pairings with TODAY co-hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda during the fourth hour here.
Since breaking out in 2012 with the mega smash “Cruise,” FGL have solidified their place as one of the elite acts in country music, earning prestigious honors from the AMA, ACM Awards, CMA Awards, Billboard Music Awards and CMT. Their previous releases – 2X PLATINUM debut HERE’S TO THE GOOD TIMESand PLATINUM ANYTHING GOES – have attributed to sales surpassing 26 million tracks, more than 3.5 million albums worldwide and RIAA DIAMOND-certification for “Cruise,” solidifying the hit as the only country single to ever reach sales of over 10 million copies. Their massive debut also overtook the record for longest #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
Notching over 1.5 million tickets sold in 2015 alone, FGL continues their successful streak with heavily sold-out crowds during their headline DIG YOUR ROOTS TOUR, further “cementing FGL as a bona fide headliner after just two albums” (Oakland Press). Throughout the end of 2016, The Cadillac Three, Cole Swindell and Kane Brown will join the high-octane pair.
