COUNTRY MUSIC STARS PERFORMED THEIR HIT SONGS
GUEST SPEAKER SGT. ROCKY SICKMANN DELIVERED MOVING SPEECH
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – DRAMS N’ JAMS 2022 hosted by Folds of Honor Tennessee took place on Thursday, March 24th at The Bell Tower in Downtown Nashville. The event more than doubled last year’s profits, raising a tremendous $106,000. The money raised from the event will go directly to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled service members that Folds of Honor was created to support.
The night featured music from five of Nashville’s top singer/songwriters – Kip Moore, Charles Esten, Jameson Rodgers, Raelynn, and hit songwriter Chris DeStefano – performing their many hit songs such as Kip Moore’s “Beer Money” and Carrie Underwood’s “Something In The Water” (written by DeStefano). The attendees enjoyed the performances, singing along, while experiencing a custom whiskey tasting hand-picked by each of the performers. Throughout the event, multiple priceless items including guitars signed by Dolly Parton and John Rich as well as rare bottles of whiskey were auctioned off to the eager attendees, all benefiting Folds of Honor. Sgt. Rocky Sickmann, United States Marine Corps Sergeant and P.O.W., Iranian Hostage Crisis, delivered a moving speech about his 444 days in captivity while serving in the United States military. Highlighting that there are thousands more stories of U.S. soldiers serving their country within the Folds of Honor organization, Sickmann’s speech prefaced the live music as well as the auction.
Since its inception in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded 35,000 total scholarships in all 50 states. Minority scholarship recipients represent 41% of all educational scholarships. Folds of Honor is proud to have a cumulative average ratio of 90% of every dollar raised going to their scholarship program. The annual DRAMS N’ JAMS event is just one of many ways Folds of Honor achieves its mission to give back to the families who have experienced loss due to their loved ones giving the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom. The next Folds of Honor Tennessee event will be the annual Rock-N-Jock Celebrity Softball Game – tickets on sale April 15th.
