Nashville, TN – Rising Country newcomer Gabrielle Mooney is releasing a brand new single today, “Pray For You.” The heartfelt ballad was inspired by a past relationship Mooney had with a guy who just couldn’t quite be faithful or truthful, as it turns out, and how the fiery young artist realized immediately she had dodged a bullet as soon as the couple fell apart. Listen HERE.

In true creative fashion, Gabrielle got the best revenge possible in the form of a song that came to her once she exited the toxic situation and was able to find closure and peace in knowing everything really does happen for a reason and works out for the best – even if it doesn’t seem like it at the time. The honesty-packed track showcases Mooney’s soulful vocals and ability to get right to the heart of the matter with her pull-no-punches, straight to the gut lyrics, and is bound to strike a chord with listeners and fans across the country.

“There was a guy I was dating from near my hometown, who was a country boy and a rebel, so I was into him of course,” recalls Mooney, laughing. “I was in a band at the time, and he hated it, and finally one day on his front porch he said I had to choose between him and music. Needless to say, I left that day and never came back. Never spoke to him again. He wanted me to settle down, get married, buy a house, have kids…which is great, but not what I saw for my life at the time. He was controlling, would get mad if I talked to guy friends, and accuse me of being unfaithful constantly. And come to find out, WHILE WE WERE TOGETHER he was seeing his ex. As soon as we broke up, I found out he had gotten her pregnant…while still in a relationship with me. I wrote “Pray For You” in Nashville one day when Jimmie Deeghan and Zach Lockwood were messing around with a cool riff at our write, and the words just came flowing out. The thing about it is, I wasn’t even mad. I just felt so sorry for that poor girl that will have to deal with my ex forever. They got married a couple of months after we broke up and had the baby. No shade, I don’t hate my ex. But I do feel sorry for the other woman. So this song is about dealing with what I went through but also empathizing with what she went through.”

The new song, co-penned by Mooney, offers a taste of the talented singer/songwriter’s range and ability to tap into a wide variety of emotions and perfectly capture them through her music.
