First Dive Bar Tour Stop Since February 2020

The Only Way In Was To Win Through Local Country Radio
Station KSOP

LOS ANGELES —  Garth Brooks absolutely rocked The Westerner in Salt Lake City on Friday night. There were nearly 900 people in attendance. The only way in was to win through local country radio station KSOP, which normally goes by Z104 but this week went as G104 in celebration of all things Garth.

Proof of vaccination and masks were required for entry.

Deb Turpin, KSOP -Z104 Program Director and Morning Show Co-Host said, “I’VE BEEN HERE AT KSOP SINCE 1988 AND THE GARTH BROOKS DIVE BAR SHOW HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST THING I THINK WE’VE EVER DONE. THE CHANCE TO SEE GARTH IN THIS SETTING IS THE CHANCE OF A LIFETIME FOR OUR LISTENERS. WE’VE HEARD HUNDREDS OF STORIES THE PAST FEW WEEKS ABOUT GARTH BROOKS AND HIS INFLUENCE ON PEOPLE’S LIVES AND EVERYTHING THAT COMES WITH LIFE. HE CONTINUES TO TOUCH LIVES WITH HIS MUSIC AND PASSION. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY AND JUST HAD THE HIGHEST RATINGS IN 26 YEARS, SO THAT DOESN’T HURT EITHER! THANK YOU GARTH!”

This was the first Dive Bar Tour stop since February 2020, where he played the Six String in Foxborough, MA. The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour plays Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City tomorrow night.

Just before taking the stage, Garth went live on Inside Studio G. Watch here.

Garth began his Dive Bar Tour concert series in the summer of 2019 at Joe’s on Weed Street in Chicago.  Other stops included Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, CA; Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, TX; The Barn in Sanford, FL; The Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown, OH; and  Prospectors in Mt. Laurel, NJ.

The Dive Bar Tour was inspired by his single, DIVE BAR, with Blake Shelton, which is on Garth’s most recent album, FUN. The Dive Bar Tour will continue on to dive bars in country music capitals around the country through 2022.
