Music Row, Thrive Global and More
Nashville, Tenn. – Gary Brewer is excited to announce the next single from his critically-acclaimed 40th Anniversary Celebration album. The song “Big Train” featuring Doug Phelps (from The Kentucky Headhunters) will serve as the project’s second official release. The collection has been a runaway success for the Bluegrass troubadour, hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums Chart, and spending a total of 13 weeks (and counting) on the chart. To commemorate the new single, the band unveiled the official video on Country Rebel, who shared it to their extensive network to a massive audience. Fans can also view the video on YouTube HERE.
“It was such a blast having Doug Phelps of The Kentucky Headhunters in the studio for ‘Big Train.’ The chemistry was just amazing and I must say, not bad for a couple of ole’ Kentucky Boys,” says Gary Brewer. “The Kentucky Headhunters make a cameo appearance in the video and what a great bunch of talented guys. I personally wanted the fans to see what it was like in the studio with Doug and that’s exactly what the video features, live footage of the actual recording session. Hope you enjoy riding the ‘Big Train’ with us, All Aboard!”
Since its release in the early summer, the project has propelled Brewer and his band The Kentucky Ramblers to new heights. The 40th Anniversary Celebration has been covered and praised by top publications including Medium, American Songwriter, Music Row Magazine, Thrive Global and many more. It’s being helmed as “a perfect way to recognize a 40-year professional Bluegrass music career” by Roots Music Report, plus Midwest Record Entertainment called it “The biggest Bluegrass record since Dueling Banjos!”
With the release of “Big Train,” Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers look to carry on the momentum of lead single “Goin’ Up Shell Creek” featuring Grammy-winning band The Travelin’ McCourys. On the other end, “Big Train” is already starting to gain attention. Vents Magazine says that “the banjo-driven track will take listeners on a journey with its upbeat catchy melody.” With the recent release of the music video for the single, Brewer and company took fans inside the studio where they performed the self-penned track.
The record serves as a full circle moment for Brewer. After garnering attention and gaining respect from some of the biggest names of all-time across multiple music genres, he has no plans in stopping any time soon. Having recorded and toured with music icons like Bill Monroe, J.D. Crowe, Uncle Josh Graves, Doyle Lawson, Larry Sparks and Dave Evans, that artistry is on full display in the band’s unique style. With a lifetime of experience and dedication to the Bluegrass genre, Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers will take that inspiration on the road for the 40th Anniversary Celebration Tour, which will resume as soon as venues begin to open again following the COVID-19 outbreak cancellations.
