Grace Humphries sat down with Chris Ramos of Sons of Lions for The Country Note, and the whole thing just feels like hanging out with somebody who is about to walk into a moment and actually knows it. Grace is that Belmont kid with the voice that makes you stop mid-scroll. Soulful. A little smoky. Story-first. The kind of singer where you go, “Wait… replay that.”
Then NBC’s The Voice happens, and suddenly the rest of the country is finding out what Nashville already clocked.
Ramos is the perfect person to do this interview. He’s an artist talking to an artist, not some stiff “so tell us your journey” robot. They get into the work, the nerves, the why-country-and-not-something-else of it all. Grace doesn’t play the “aw shucks I just got lucky” card. She’s grateful, she’s grounded, and she’s clearly been putting in the hours. Which, honestly? Awesome. We love an artist who can be excited without acting like the universe just handed them a guitar last Tuesday.
Is it a little wild watching somebody you already believed in step onto a national stage? Yes. Are we going to pretend we’re chill about it? Absolutely not. Holy schnikies. This is the fun part.
