The Panama City, Florida native was signed to Arista Nashville as a solo artist in 1998. During that time, Daniels released four songs, two of which charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. In 2003, he signed with Epic Records. Having already co-written his first #1 single for Joe Nichols (“Brokenheartsville”), however, Daniels decided to focus his career on songwriting and has been extremely successful ever since both writing and performing his hit songs for enthusiastic crowds at showcases and festivals across the country.
In 2020, Daniels was nominated for both a Grammy Award (Best Country Song) and an ACM Award (Song of the Year) for “Some Of It.”
As a BMI award-winning songwriter, Daniels has co-written #1 singles for Joe Nichols (“Brokenheartsville”), Montgomery Gentry (“Roll With Me”), and most recently, Eric Church (“Some Of It”). His chart-topping songs have helped shape country music for nearly two decades and have been recorded by artists including George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Clay Walker, Easton Corbin, Jon Pardi, and Brandy Clark.
