NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Grand Ole Opry® presented by Humana® celebrated its 91st birthday this weekend with three Opry shows. The festivities included great performances by Opry members Brad Paisley, Joe Diffie, and Ricky Skaggs as well as Lee Brice, Ashley Monroe, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Secret Sisters and a concert by country legend Crystal Gayle and Opry Plaza shows featuring Jaida Dreyer, Mo Pitney, Carson Peters and Iron Mountain, Janelle Arthur, Levon, Ben & Sara, and Carly Pearce.
Paisley performed his new single “Today” for the first time live and edited a unique video highlighting some of the Opry’s most significant moments from past to present. “Happy birthday, Grand Ole Opry!” shared Paisley. “I love this place more than anywhere in the world. …. The greatest moment of my career was when my friends Bill Anderson, Jimmy Dickens, and Jeannie Seely invited me to be a member here.”
And coming to the Opry and Opry Country Classics later this month are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Hillary Scott and the Scott Family, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Montgomery Gentry, Lorrie Morgan, Old Crow Medicine Show, Marie Osmond, and Chris Young, among many others.
