“Opry Loves The 90s” Special 97th Birthday Fan Event

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Grand Ole Opry is set to celebrate its 97th birthday with six nights of shows October 4 – 9. The Opry will host its traditional Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night shows as well as Thursday night’s Opry Country Classics and for the special birthday week shows have just been added on Wednesday and Sunday. Additionally, a special “Opry Loves The 90s” Studio A live fan event featuring Deana Carter and celebrating OPRY AT 97 is scheduled for Saturday, October 8.
Among those scheduled for appearances on various OPRY AT 97 shows are special guests Opry NextStage artist Breland, Deana Carter, and Jon Pardi plus Opry members Bill Anderson, Terri Clark, The Isaacs, Jamey Johnson, Craig Morgan, Carly Pearce, Steve Wariner, Chris Young and more.
Thursday’s Opry Country Classics (Oct. 6) will feature spotlight artist and Opry member Chris Janson as well as performances by Opry members The Gatlin Brothers as well as Jim Lauderdale, Michael Ray, and more. The OPRY AT 97 Opry Country Classics will salute the “Kings and Queens of Country”, celebrating some of the biggest names in country music: The King of Broken Hearts, George Jones; The King of the Road, Rogers Miller; “King George”, George Strait; The King of Country Music, Roy Acuff; the Queen of Country Music, Kitty Wells, plus Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and more.
As part of the Opry’s ongoing “Opry Loves The 90s”, hit-maker Deana Carter will join fans in Studio A for an intimate acoustic performance, interview, and fan Q&A on Saturday, October 8 at 1:30 p.m. Carter, whose signature song “Strawberry Wine,” was the 1997 Country Music Association Single of the Year, will celebrate the Opry’s 97th during this backstage event at the Opry House.
Fans are also invited to the Opry Plaza for free music celebrating the Opry’s birthday on Friday evening, Oct. 7, and all day Saturday, Oct. 8.
