Good Morning America’s Ginger Zee and The Weather Channel’s Jen Carfagno Appear as Guest Announcers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. –– The Grand Ole Opry brought out some of music’s biggest stars this weekend in celebration of tomorrow’s historic Total Eclipse. The Opry, positioned to be in the direct path of the Total Eclipse, hosted five shows this weekend plus an Opry Plaza Party Sunday in anticipation of the once-in-a-lifetime event. Reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Wynonna, and Charles Esten were among the performers during tonight’s two shows dubbed Total Eclipse Opry performances.
Good Morning America’s chief meteorologist Ginger Zee and The Weather Channel’s Jen Carfagno participated in the Opry’s guest announcer series this evening before covering the eclipse throughout the day tomorrow.
Fans across the country can catch updates from the Plaza via coverage on CBS This Morning and coverage of the total eclipse later in the day during their network special.
The Opry’s eclipse celebration continues Monday with a Total Eclipse Plaza Party featuring Levon and Ashley McBryde. Guests can expect live music from the country newcomers on the Plaza stage and an array of themed food and drink, including BBQ and a specialty eclipse cocktail. The Opry will feature a one-of-a-kind Nashville Total Eclipse soundtrack to accompany the approximately two minutes of eclipse totality in the Plaza. Also marking the total eclipse, tomorrow’s Opry House Backstage Tours are set to recognize Opry artists whose career achievements have eclipsed all others in their field.
The Opry was named the Top Attraction in the U.S. by Trip Advisor for Spring 2017 and was ranked in USA Today this summer as Trip Advisor’s top-rated attraction in Tennessee.
