A Portion of Tonight’s Proceeds will go to Dolly’s Imagination Library
Nashville, TN – The Grand Ole Opry dedicated tonight’s regularly scheduled Saturday night show to Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry Member Dolly Parton, recognizing her importance to the Opry, country music, and her fans worldwide. The Opry has a long history of honoring its members who have passed and celebrating their immeasurable impact on the Opry family. A portion of each tickets sold from tonight’s show will be donated to Dolly’s ImaginationLibrary.com.
Among the artists performing tonight were Carly Pearce, who began her career at Dollywood and was surprised by Parton with an invitation to join the Opry in 2021. Pearce performed “Those Memories of You” and celebrated her fifth anniversary as an Opry member. Kathy Mattea dedicated “Jolene” to Dolly’s memory. Ketch Secor and Molly Tuttle sang “Just Someone I Used To Know,” and Dan Tyminski dedicated his song “Smile When You’re Alone” to Dolly, saying “her voice would have been perfect on it.” Additional performances included T. Graham Brown delivering a beautiful rendition of “Beulah Land,” Belle Frantz, making her Opry debut, singing “Where No One Stands Alone,” “Channing Wilson singing “My Tennessee Mountain Home,” and Jada Star, Dolly’s niece, performing “The Orchard.”
All the artists gathered at the end of the show to perform “9 to 5,” including a surprise walk-on by Opry member Jelly Roll. The night concluded with all the artists and several backstage guests on stage watching a video of Dolly singing “I Will Always Love You.”
