Nashville, Tenn. – Today, Nashville singer-songwriter Hannah May Allison releases her new single, “Summer Sucks,” a powerful pop/country song about a summer break-up. This “anti” summer song is about a girl in a relationship who adored everything about summer, but the end of the relationship ruined summer altogether for her. This song relates to anyone who has ever been through a summer break-up, and sings about how hard it can be to enjoy this time of year without being reminded of who you used to share it with. HMA’s emotional and heartfelt performance brings a unique twist on the traditional, up-beat songs you hear coming out during the summertime.
When asked about what inspired this song, Hannah May explains: “One of the co-writer’s on the song, Lauren McLamb, came in with the song title “Summer Sucks” and we were all thinking with a title like that, the song would probably be more light-hearted and funny. Once we started writing it, we instantly realized it was turning into something different than expected and something really special.” Produced by Ken Baumann and written by Hannah May Allison, Casey Cattie, Lauren McLamb, and John Miller, “Summer Sucks” is Hannah’s second single of the year and a representative of Hannah’s new catalog of songs that showcases her truthful take on the world around her.
“Summer Sucks” can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and CD Baby here.
