Nashville, Tenn. —Jay Bragg, multifaceted musician and recent tourmate of Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson, completes three phase album compilation with the release of Find Me in a Song (Vol. 3) including four fresh tracks AVAILABLE  NOW. Bragg’s dedication to his craft despite a year of uncertainty, appear full-fledgedly through his emotional transparency, witty lyricism, and boot-scootin’ rhythm that make up his sophomore record. For those who want their hands on a physical copy Find Me In a Song is available at www.jaybragg.com/merch

In the final act of Find Me in a Song, Bragg returns to the desires of human touch with “Physical Education”, a double entendre that easily serves as the most lighthearted track on the record.  Then follows “Just Walk Away” featuring fiddle player and fellow artist, Lucy B. Cochran, who emphasizes the female perspective of the story in which the continuing theme of loss paired with the excruciating task of letting go takes center stage. The push and pull of two lovers trying to convince themselves of an inevitable split makes for one of the most human songs Bragg has ever written.

The remaining material circles back to the spiritual realms of gratitude and immortality as heard in volume one. “Sweet Gift of Music,” is a prayer expressing thanks for the creative talents Bragg possesses, handed down by heritage and a higher power and how those talents have saved his soul.

“Both ‘Sweet Gift of Music’ and the final track, ‘Find Me in a Song,’ are the most introspective of this phase,” said Bragg. “Growing up, I was trouble-maker, oftentimes rudderless, but music is the gift that provided the rudder that allowed me to pursue the direction I was meant to travel. ‘Find Me in a Song’ began to take on a higher meaning when I started thinking about my own mortality. I am not at all comfortable with death, but one thing that brings me consolation about it is the fact that I have spent my life creating music that is a permanent extension of who I am.  My hope is that the music I’ve made and all the stories that surround it will keep the memory of who I am alive forever.  You will always be able to find me in the songs I’ve made and that notion is at the centerpiece of the music on this record and my life’s work.”

As the title track, “Find Me in a Song” is the only song track recorded without a band. It is simply Bragg, his guitar, vocal, and harmonica, leaving listeners with an intimate closing of a record that extensively covers a pallet of colors and an array of emotion. In more ways than one, this album is the product of survival stemming from Bragg’s persistence in an oversaturated city of dreamers who continue to tread water in the wake of COVID-19. Bragg, a third-generation professional musician, is full-heartedly dedicated to a music career with longevity. With the halt of the touring industry and live music on standby, releasing this collection of material in a series is not only to withstand the times, but to bring Bragg’s fans a much needed dose of joy and comfort throughout the remainder of this year.

“Music has always been that lighthouse that reminds me who I am, where I came from and how to get to where I want to go,” added Bragg. “‘Find Me In A Song’ is the story of my life laid bare.  If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my days – the thousands of shows I’ve played since I was 5, the relationships I’ve made, heartbreaks I’ve endured and challenges I’ve persevered through – it’s that there’s nothing more powerful than love and truth.  This music is my love and my truth and I’m releasing it at a time when so much of this country and world is broken, lied to, void of hope and in need of that lighthouse to remind us that life is beautiful.  And with some good, honest music, a few drinks and a little dancing, it’s still a whole lotta fun.”
