More than 200 pairs of shoes will be donated to communities in Burundi, Africa following Monday night’s event
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Just days before Thanksgiving, HIGH VALLEY’s BRAD and CURTIS REMPEL gathered in Nashville with friends from the music industry to give thanks and give back to a worthy cause. The Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville duo invited guests to join them for an album release party with a purpose, simultaneously celebrating the recent release of their major label debut, Dear Life, all while raising awareness and donations for a cause they have long supported – FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY.
Guests were encouraged to sign a cut-out footprint and post to a wall upon arrival to show the impact of the event. A pair of shoes will be donated to communities in Burundi, Africa for each guest in attendance last night – more than 200 in total. The duo performed songs from the new album and shared their thanks for the assembled community’s support of their music as well as the worthy cause.
“We are thankful for so much right now – it was staggering to look around that room and see the faces of so many friends in the business who have supported us all these years and allowed us to live out our dreams,” said High Valley’s Brad Rempel. “And how cool is it that we get to share our thanks and pay it forward at the same time with a donation to Food For The Hungry. Tonight not only celebrated our new album Dear Life but the event directly benefitted the community we’ve gotten to know in Burundi,” shared High Valley’s Curtis Rempel.
High Valley joined Food For The Hungry’s fight against poverty in 2014. The siblings, both fathers themselves, sponsor three young boys in the town of Kabarore, Burundi. That same year, they traveled to the poverty-stricken country to personally take part in the non-profit’s advocacy work. High Valley continues to support Food For The Hungry in its efforts to end all forms of human poverty through community-owned transformation, empowering children, families and communities to invest in their own development.
