NASHVILLE, TN. – Country pop artist, Caitlin Quisenberry, sings of the pain, anguish and loneliness so many face during the holiday season. As she opens her heart to show its rawest emotions, her voice is laced with dark timbers of sorrow that billow into a cry of hopelessness. Caitlin co-wrote this song with Corey Lee Baker and Jason Wyatt, who not only produced this track, but also sang on it. His raspy rocker vocals perfectly compliment Caitlin’s classically trained rich and haunting sound.

“As joyous as the holidays are for some, they are the source of great pain, stress and loneliness for others,” Caitlin recognizes. “I was adamant about writing and releasing a Christmas song that’s also relatable for those who have their hardest days during the holiday season. I wanted it to be released at midnight on Thanksgiving, because from that day through Christmas, we are bombarded with images of togetherness. Unlike most joyous Christmas songs that embody the warm feelings of ‘home for the holidays’, this song contrasts that with the reality of many feeling ‘hopeless for the holidays’. My producer, Jason Wyatt, created a poignant soundtrack for this song that brings the emotions of the lyrics to the level they deserve. I love his voice and asked if he would sing with me on this track. Our voices together radiate deep despair between two people, a cry for help, a loneliness that’s inescapable. My hope is that this song makes those who are feeling this way know they aren’t alone, and for others, I hope it reminds them that this is the season to reach out and help others.”
If you’re a fan of Christmas classics, Caitlin released a cover of “O Holy Night” last year. It was featured on Today in Nashville’s Christmas Special and Spotify’s editorial playlist, Country Christmas.
