DEBUT SINGLE “THING IS” OUT TODAY
Released in Partnership With River House Artists/Sony Music Nashville
Introducing Southerland, a new country duo formed by Nashville-based singers, songwriters and musicians, Matt Chase and Chris Rogers. After collaborating for several years, Chase and Rogers officially joined forces as Southerland in 2019 when they signed as a pair with River House Artists/Sony Music Nashville. The duo is also represented by WME and recently signed a publishing deal with Reservoir.
Southerland has developed naturally since becoming a duo, combining the lyrical storytelling and musical foundation of traditional country music with the widespread appeal of today’s top country hits. In celebration of the partnership, Southerland’s debut single, “Thing Is,” is out today. Listen/share HERE. Co-written by Chase, Rogers and their frequent collaborator Greg Bates, the new song was produced by Trent Willmon and recorded at Nashville’s Soundstage Studios.
Of the release, Southerland shares, “We’ve never been more excited about releasing music that feels this authentic to who we are. From the very beginning, we’ve just tried to have fun doing what we love, and we think that’s a quality that really shines through with ‘Thing Is’.”
Since meeting at a songwriting session in 2016, Chase and Rogers have shared the stage with artists such as Luke Combs, Lauren Alaina, Eli Young Band, Brantley Gilbert, Montgomery Gentry, Craig Morgan, Darius Rucker, Morgan Wallen and many more. Southerland is currently working on new music, additional details to be shared soon.
