New Country Music Association Artist Member Adam Whitehead made his debut on The Country Network on Monday, September 25, 2023. Beginning his full time career merely weeks before the pandemic began in 2020, Whitehead gave platforms an upbeat party song with ‘Outlawed’, written by up and coming Nashville writer Mason Thornley.
Music Row Reporter of the Year, Steve Shettler, gave the song its first spin in 2019. That day, Adam Whitehead and Outlawed caught fire on TikTok with a video of him listening to the song for the first time while sitting in his family van in Corydon, Iowa.
Through Rocketsongs and The Orchard, a Sony backed distributor, Whitehead and label 32South polished this gem with the production of legendary producer Stacy Hogan. Hogan has written over 15 major label songs for other artists across multiple genres, including 2 Billboard Top 10 Hard Rock singles. Hogan has also produced songs heard on MTV, NBC, and The Voice while also producing demo’s for the likes of Buddy Jewell. Hogan has also been featured on Billboard and countless publications while producing 5 of the 6 songs on Whitehead’s Billboard Charting Record ‘The Way Whitley Done It’.
Upon the debut on The Country Network, Whitehead also said, “This is a big piece to the puzzle for our success. Guys like me don’t get on National Television very often and it’s a true blessing. I’m thankful for The Country Network with their support and I’ll be a fan for life. My wife (Shaina Whitehead) and my booking agent (Alicia Steinmetz) have been good cheerleaders along the way. I’m currently working with a producer out of Central Iowa and will keep working with Half Brothers Media out of Louisville and Nashville. It’s just been a great ride and we can’t wait to do more videos with heartfelt messages that will get the same result”.
When asked what comes next in his career, Whitehead said “Just record more songs and try to solidify my name in Country Music. I think we’ve done a good job of that so far but we will always push for more. The Country Network has been a wonderful support and my promoter, Craig Bann, for video and Regina Raleigh for radio have helped open so many doors to what we want to do as a brand and label. I ultimately have the goal of stepping into the Grand Ole Opry circle while at the same time being a good representation of Iowa.”
