Jake Owen Takes No Crap When It Comes to his Fans

Let’s face it, fans are vulnerable. They exhaust a lot of time, energy, money, and resources into sharing their favorite artist with the world. They are also incredibly protective, so with the seeming ever growing “trend” of country star impostors, fans have been on the alert to notify their favorite artists when they receive requests and messages from the sorts – Chris Young has stated several times his official accounts in a photo shared via those socials, Kip Moore (as always) has been incredible vocal about the phonies, and Jake Owen…… well, let’s just say Jake doesn’t take any crap. After receiving multiple messages from fans about the impersonator, Owen took matters in to his own hands and CALLED him.

Yup, that’s right. The nit-wit gave fans, primarily women, his phone number.

In an epic Facebook video, Owen (whose hair is looking quite remarkable I might add) remarks on the complaints he has received, referring to the guy as a “disgusting low-life of a human-being” before dialing away on his iPhone.  Naturally the call goes to voicemail, giving Owen the prime opportunity to say what he’s really thinking:

“Hey this is Jake Owen. The real Jake Owen. Calling you, piece of (expletive), to make sure that you stop doing what you’re doing, sending messages to people under a fake account. Uh, because we will get to the bottom of this and find you. And not only that, I’ve got a lot of people out there that are great human beings and we will make sure that we put people like you away. So uh, hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday, I’m gonna continue drinking my margarita now that I’ve told you my piece. And um, don’t make me call you again.”

In a statement accompanying the video, Owen states that the perpetrator then texted him back, still proclaiming to be the real Jake Owen and begging not to make his phone number public. As if it wasn’t visible in the video, Owen gives it away anyway……. might make others think twice before trying to act like another.
