Nashville, TN – “Runnin’ From my Roots,” the title track and first single from the motion picture soundtrack and film Runnin’ From My Roots, will be available for presale on October 12, with a street date of October 26 on ITunes!
“Runnin’ from My Roots” was co-written and performed by recording artist and repeated guest of the Grand Ole Opry, Janelle Arthur. “I think every person goes through a time in their life when they might be a little embarrassed of where they came from, whether they should be or not. The idea for the song came about during a deep conversation with a friend on the phone where I said, “they’re just running from their roots” and I immediately wrote that down. When I brought the hook to my co-writers Jeff Hodge and Stephen Paul, we never imagined that it would become the title track of a film! So many people that I have met tell me how they relate to the song and its message.”
“Runnin From My Roots,” the lead single will precede the soundtrack which was produced by country’s own sweetheart of the 90’s, Deana Carter.
The film’s red-carpet theatrical premiere will take place on November 1 at Westwood’s Landmark Regent Theatre in Los Angeles.
