Following his Texas Radio Top 40 Hit “Good Bar Attender,” Jeff Clayborn is back and now with his first nationally released single, “Caddy in the Campground.” And much like “Good Bar Attender,” the Texas country artist has put his humor front and center in his new video as well.
Clayborn sits around campfire, drinking a beer with his buds, when an unexpected set of headlights blinds their eyes. More clown car than luxury vehicle, a beautiful white Cadillac shows up as a group of city girls dressed like their “goin’ downtown” spills out, crashing their bro-party:
What the hell is that
Whose bright white headlights
Moonshine’s kickin’ in
Oh my God a city car full of women
Why’s there a Caddy in the campground
Girls gettin’ out lookin’ like they’re goin’ downtown
Heals on skirts high drinkin’ champagne
Ain’t no room for a Caddy in the campground
Naturally the group of guys warm up to the beautiful women, inviting them into their camp to dance and share their beers, and leading to the chorus change: “Anything can happen with a Caddy in the campground.” However when they awaken, they are left to wonder: What happened last night? (And while it’s a country song shot in the woods, there are parts of the video that bring to mind Whitesnakes’ iconic music video for “Here I Go Again,” with supermodel Tawny Kitaen and Jaguar XJs.)
From the first lyric Clayborn’s robust vocals, complete with his signature his Texas twang, take control while his bandmates (featured in the video as well) add some killer guitar and fiddle to the song.
