Country newcomer Jesse Allen has announced that his highly-anticipated debut EP “I’m Steppin In” will be released to all digital platforms on Friday, July 6th. The EP is currently available for pre-order and it includes “Bad” as an immediate download with a pre-order. The EP peaked at #9 on the iTunes pre-order chart in less than 24 hours.
With an ever growing fanbase in the Midwest, Iowa native Allen is releasing this project nationwide after many years of waiting. “For the longest time, I didn’t know if I’d ever have the opportunity to make this record the way I wanted to make it,” says Allen. “It took me almost three years to finally get to the point I’m at and it’s still surreal. I’m just forever grateful that I’ve got this opportunity in front of me to finally showcase my songs to the world.”
The project was recorded and produced in Nashville, TN by Joe Costa (one half of country duo Terra Bella). “When Joe and I sat down to discuss the vision of this EP, we really clicked and saw eye to eye on what I wanted it to sound like. His guidance, vision and friendship throughout this entire process has been incredible. I can’t wait for people to hear what we’ve come up with!”
Featuring five songs, all written by Allen, the “I’m Steppin In” EP displays Allen’s songwriting talent in full force with an underlying theme to the song selections. “If you listen to the EP from start to finish, it actually tells an overall story about the beginning and ending of a relationship. I thought that was a really cool element to throw in there. Not only can you take each song for what it is in itself but you can also take the EP as a whole and see how a relationship evolves over time. Even with five songs you can still tell an underlying story and I love that.”
Allen will continue playing a string of fairs and festivals this summer and fall across the country in support of his debut EP. The lead single off the EP, “Bad”, will be released immediately to country radio. A lyric video for the song is currently available on YouTube here.
“At the end of the day, my whole goal was to say I did this. I went to Nashville and recorded an album that I’m proud of. Music is my life and each day I have the chance to make it is special to me. My only hope is that people feel something from these songs and they enjoy them. Past that, anything that happens is just a cherry on top. I’m humbled and grateful to release this EP.”
