INTERNATIONAL’S SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
FOLLOWING HIS SOLD OUT ROUND WITH RUNAWAY JUNE AT TIN PAN SOUTH,
LABELLE BRINGS HIS SHOW BACK TO THE LISTENING ROOM SELLING IT OUT
A WEEK IN ADVANCE FOR THE 22nd TIME
NASHVILLE, TN—Since hearing the great news of his selection to appear at the prestigious Stagecoach Festival, Jesse Labelle has decided to do a series of events entitled ON THE ROAD TO STAGECOACH. April is turning into a big month for Labelle. He was awarded with the first Annual Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Scholarship Award at their annual awards show, the kick off event for Tin Pan South week in Nashville. He also performed the song, entitled, “Looking Up”. Two years ago when we all optimistically hoped the pandemic would only last a couple of weeks, Jesse submitted and won the “Nashville Needs A Song” contest sponsored by the City of Nashville and the NSAI with this song, and now that things are finally “Looking Up”. He released a video performance today on TikTok of this song. The video was filmed as part of the sold out round at one of Tin Pan South’s venue’s the Station Inn where he hosted the round with Runaway June, Steve Bogard and Andrew Peeples.
Labelle’s video tribute to MusiCares was played on April 1 during the dinner gala honoring Joni Mitchell. “If MusiCares hadn’t been there for me, I am not sure I would still be making music,” commented Labelle who lost his home to the 2020 Nashville tornado, then lost his livelihood as did many others to the Pandemic and then successfully fought off a battle with cancer. Although it was a video, Jesse joked that “it was his first appearance for The Recording Academy…hopefully more to come!!”
On April 15 Labelle will be returning to Nashville’s Listening Room, and once again sold out this venue which traditional draws walk up ticket sales. Labelle sold out over a week in advanced for the 22nd straight time. He will perform the set that he will bring to the Sirius XM Stage at Stagecoach on May 1. He is the only independent artist on that three day Stagecoach bill of Country music’s greatest artists. Also included in the show will be songs from his six-song EP, Jesse Labelle Part 1, which is a result of his focused time spent in quarantine writing, producing, and performing some of the best music of his career. Watch for Jesse Labelle Part 2 EP to be released soon after his Stagecoach performance.
