Amid her current single Morganclimbing the charts, country artist Julia Capogrossi has just been named the official spokesperson for Global Children’s Rescue (GCR), a non-profit that works to put a stop to human trafficking. Capogrossi jumped at the chance to work with them, citing human trafficking as an issue close to her heart.
In describing the announcement, Capogrossi said, “This is so important to me, and something that people aren’t talking about enough. People think ‘this could never happen to me, this could never happen to my children,’ but it can, it is, and it’s happening every day. I think people need to be aware of potential threatening situations as it could mean the difference between life and death.”
Global Children’s Rescue focuses on missing children and human trafficked victims as well as human trafficking prevention. In working with them, she hopes to bring more awareness to this issue, as well as bringing awareness and support in their pursuit of ending human trafficking in our local communities.
Christine Gillman, the Vice President and Co-Founder of GCR is excited about the collaboration. She said, “[We are] proud to announce this partnership. We are so honored to be an organization she proudly supports. Human trafficking is a problem that exists in every town, every state and every nation worldwide. It includes sex trafficking, forced labor, indentured servitude and is often misunderstood or ignored. What many people don’t realize is that this crime is happening right in their own neighborhood. GCR is excited to partner with Capogrossi to raise awareness in local communities, to be a voice to women and children, and to provide unlimited resources to those affected by this heinous crime. GCR is here for you and we’re lucky to have her go on this journey with us.”
This announcement adds to an already packed year for Capogrossi. Amid her ongoing radio tour in support of her current single Morgan that is climbing the Music Row Country Breakout Chart, she recently attended Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in downtown Nashville earlier this month participating in endless media interviews and interacting with radio stations alongside her other team members, radio promotors GrassRoots Promotion and Radio Promotion Nashville.
While Capogrossi may still be a fresh face and sound on the country music scene, she is on her way to becoming a household name. With a debut single already under her belt, an official music video that was played on TV networks including The Country Network, endless media coverage secured, and her first artist experience at CMA Music Festival, these opportunities elevated her career to an overwhelming lifetime opportunity last Fall. She traveled out of the country for the first time to San Pedro, Argentina, to headline South America’s largest country music festival. With musical influences ranging from Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert to Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen, this Stamford, Connecticut native’s passion for music can easily be seen with her upbeat personality, warm smile and dynamic stage presence.
