No Other Country Album Has Spent More Weeks on the Top of Chart
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – ACM Award double-nominee Kane Brown expands his reign at the top of the charts as his self-titled debut album notches an 8th week at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Since his debut released on Dec. 2, 2016, no other country album has held the #1 slot for more weeks. In 2018 the singer/songwriter has held the #1 album position for 6 out of 8 weeks. Brown is nominated for ACM’s New Male Vocalist Of The Year and Vocal Event Of The Year (“What Ifs,” featuring Lauren Alaina), and has remained country music’s best-selling new artist debut of the past four years.
Brown’s Gold-Certified single “Heaven” is #1 for a second consecutive week on Nielsen’s On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart and #12-and-climbing on Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase country airplay charts. Last week, “Heaven” replaced Brown’s Double-Platinum certified “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina at the top of the chart. 2018’s most-streamed song, “What Ifs” is has held #1 for 18 weeks on Nielsen’s On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart.
Brown first topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart when Kane Brown debuted #1 and concurrently entered the Top 10 all-genre Billboard 200 chart in Dec. ‘16. Brown revisited the top Country Album position in Oct. ‘17 with the release of Kane Brown Deluxe Edition, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top 5 on Billboard 200 Charts. That same week, the singer-songwriter became the first-ever artist to top all 5 Billboard Country Charts with his breakthrough #1 Top Country Album; #1 debuting Country Digital Song, “Heaven”; and #1 Country Airplay, Hot Country Song and Country Streaming Song, the Double-Platinum “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina. The 24-year-old entertainer also made history in 2015 when his country EP made the highest debut in the Nielsen SoundScan era.
