NOMINATED FOR FAVORITE MALE COUNTRY ARTIST AT 2020 AMAS
BROWN TO APPEAR ON THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN TOMORROW
“WORSHIP YOU” IMPACTS COUNTRY RADIO AS ONE OF WEEK’S
MOST-ADDED SONGS
NASHVILLE, Tenn., — BMI presented 4X AMA winner Kane Brown with three of its coveted “Million-Air” certificates, recognizing three of his songs for logging over one million broadcast performances each. “Good As You” received a certificate for one million, “Lose It” was recognized for two million, and “What If” reached a staggering three million performances.
This morning on Good Morning America, it was revealed that Brown is nominated for Favorite Male Country Artist at the 2020 American Music Awards. The nomination marks the impact of Brown’s song “Worship You” at country radio today. It was one of the most added songs at the format this week.
Building on a busy month for the global entertainer, Brown will appear on The Late Late Show with James Corden for an interview and performance of “Worship You” tomorrow, October 27. Recently joining Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan as the only artists to achieve multiple 6X Platinum certifications with his songs “Heaven” and “What Ifs,” which have also achieved billion stream milestones, Brown made the television debut of “Worship You” with a “fun and memorable” (Entertainment Tonight) performance of the song at the 2020 CMT Music Awards last Wednesday, October 21.
Praised by Billboard as a “radiant ode to his wife,” “Worship You” was included on Brown’s Mixtape Vol. 1 EP, which he released on August 14. The seven-song collection entered Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart at No. 2, earning Brown the highest first-week on-demand streams total since Sam Hunt’s SOUTHSIDE album debut. Included on Mixtape Vol. 1 are Brown’s Gold-certified “Cool Again,” and the Top 15-and-climbing Top 40 hit, “Be Like That,” a collaboration with Grammy-nominated artists Swae Lee and Khalid. His EP also includes the powerful “Worldwide Beautiful,” originally released after the music industry’s sector-wide Blackout Tuesday, which he performed on the 2020 BET Awards and ACM Awards.
