Gold-Certified Debut Album Dominates Billboard’s Top Country Chart
For Every Week of 2018, Joins Chris Stapleton As Only Artist To Debut
Brown’s Hit #1 Song, “What Ifs,” Officially Certified Double-Platinum by RIAA
NASHVILLE, TN – This week, Kane Brown’s Gold-Certified self-titled debut album achieves #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart, marking the album’s third consecutive week at #1 in 2018 and fifth week to top the chart since its release. Kane Brown now ties Chris Stapleton’s The Traveler for the most weeks at #1 for an artist’s debut album on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for the period commencing with Brown’s December 2016 debut. The breakthrough star remains country’s best-selling new-artist debut of the past three years.
Additionally, Kane Brown’s #1 hit, “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina, has been officially certified Double-Platinum by the RIAA. Amassing more than 253 million audio and video streams to date, “What Ifs” remains #1 this week on Nielsen’s On Demand Country Audio Streaming chart.
Brown’s follow-up single, “Heaven,” is currently #4 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart, #5 on theBillboard Country Streaming Songs chart, and Top 30-and-climbing on country airplay charts.
The 24-year-old entertainer first topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart when Kane Brown debuted #1 and concurrently entered the Top 10 all-genre Billboard 200 chart in December 2006. In October 2017, he made history as he revisited the top Country Album position when he released the Deluxe Edition of his self-titled album which debuted #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top 5 on Billboard 200 charts. This same week, the singer/songwriter became the first artist ever to top all 5 Billboard Country Charts with his breakthrough #1 Top Country Album; #1 debuting Country Digital Song, “Heaven”; and #1 Country Airplay, Hot Country Song and Country Streaming Song, “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina. Brown also made history in 2015 when his country EP made the highest debut in the Nielsen SoundScan era.
In December 2017, the breakout vocalist sold out his first-ever headline arena concert, where, with more than 7,000 fans in attendance, he received a plaque commemorating the history-making feat of being the first artist ever to score #1 on all 5 Billboard country charts simultaneously and a plaque for his RIAA-certified GOLD album.
In addition to wrapping his sold-out headlining tour, Brown ended 2017 with several television appearances, including the national debut of “Heaven” on Good Morning America (December 6) as well as a performances of his #1 hit, “What Ifs” on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018” on New Year’s Eve and the CBS Special “A Home for the Holidays” (December 19), and a performance of “Heaven” on Good Morning America on New Year’s Day.
