Including Top Country Artist, Top Country Album, and Top Country Song
Platinum-Selling, #1 Single “Heaven” Is Top 5 And Rising At Country Radio
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three-time Billboard Award nominee Kane Brown’s debut album returns to the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart this week, marking the album’s 11th week at #1. After debuting as the best-selling new country artist of the past three years, the multi-platinum entertainer has since amassed the most weeks at #1 for any country album since its debut in December 2016. Additionally, Brown’s debut became the first country album to earn RIAA Platinum certification since its release in December 2016. On Tuesday (4/17), Brown received three Billboard Award nominations including Top Country Artist, Top Country Album for his Platinum-selling debut album, and Top Country Song for his #1, Multi-Platinum selling hit, “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina.
The nominations come on the heels of Brown’s two ACM nominations (ACM’s New Male Vocalist and Vocal Event of the Year) and a top-rated performance of his record-breaking hit “What Ifs” at the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Brown’s “gripping live performance” (The Boot) had critics noting the star “vocally, nailed every note” and “brought an “infectious exuberance to the show” (Billboard) while he and Alaina had “the time of their lives up on the stage” (Billboard). This week “Heaven” enters the Top 5 at Country Radio and maintains its stronghold on Nielsen’s On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart this week. Produced by award-winning producer Dann Huff and co-written by Matthew McGinn, Lindsay Rimes and Shy Carter, the song is Brown’s follow up to his #1 Single, “What Ifs,” the 18-week #1 hit on Nielsen’s On Demand Audio Core Country Streaming chart and 2018’s most-streamed song.
Kane Brown first topped the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with the release of his self-titled debut album in 2016 and again with the release of Kane Brown Deluxe Edition in 2017, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top 5 on Billboard 200 Charts. That same week, the singer-songwriter became the first-ever artist to top all 5 Billboard Country Charts with his breakthrough #1 Top Country Album; #1 debuting Country Digital Song, “Heaven”; and #1 Country Airplay, Hot Country Song and Country Streaming Song, the Double-Platinum “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina. Additionally, Brown was awarded a Guinness World Record for becoming the first act to top five U.S. country charts simultaneously.
