Rising country artist Karissa Ella has the spunk, class and talent reminiscent of some country’s biggest female stars – like Karrisa’s idols Shania Twain, Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood – and she has the respect to honor those who paved the way for Karissa to do pursue her career. Today Karissa releases her cover of Pam Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis” the second single off her upcoming EP The Acoustic Sessions.
“When I sing “Maybe It Was Memphis” I just can’t help but smile! It gives off a certain kind of energy that is contagious, you just can’t help but sing along,” says Karissa. “It is an honor to cover a Pam Tillis song and I hope listeners enjoy my version of this 90’s hit!”
The first note on the violin by the brilliant Jenee Fleenor showcases the iconic sound of classic country, while Karissa’s powerful vocals deliver the lyrics about a former love in the Home of the Blues.
