NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Pop-country singer/songwriter Katie Austin shares her thoughts on being broken hearted in a bar on her highly anticipated new single, “Bandaid”. As a songwriter, Austin has most notably penned songs by Lainey Wilson – “Breakin’ Your Heart” and Season 17 The Voice Winner, Jake Hoot, with a duet called “There’s Still Tomorrow”. Last year Katie focused on writing sync songs for placement in TV shows such as “Young & The Restless”, but Austin is eager and excited to be releasing songs she’s kept in her back pocket for her own projects. “Bandaid” was co-written with Jenna LaMaster of Sheltered Music / 50 Egg Music and produced by Justin Wantz. This single is a mid tempo jam with a sassy nod to making the best of a bad night. “Bandaid” will be available on iTunes, Spotify and everywhere you consume music on July 22, 2022.
With a drive that sets her apart from the status quo, Austin has been a top five finalist in the Folgers Jingle Contest which boasted thousands of entries. Following the contest Katie released her single “Broken Record” which landed her a shot at the NASH Next competition sponsored by Cumulus Media and Big Machine Records, in which she made it into the top ten finalists. Her musical journey has also landed her past music videos being world premiered on CMT, added into regular rotation on the network and even securing the No. 4 fan voted spot on the CMT Music 12 Pack Countdown. When Katie’s not working on music, you can catch her co-hosting a big game hunting television show on The Sportsman Channel called “The Most Wanted List” with Broken Bow Alumni, Kristy Lee Cook.
If you’ve ever experienced a break up before, crank up “Bandaid” and sing it loud and proud!
