NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sony Music Nashville artist Kayley Green today releases a new track, “Shadow of a Cowboy,” out now. Written by Green along with Jon Nite, Ross Copperman, and Ben Williams, the track can be streamed HERE.
“Shadow of a Cowboy” features Green’s vulnerable yet powerful vocals as well as a melancholy melody. The reflective track tells the story of a narrator emotionally letting go of an ex, realizing that he could never be the man that she needed him to be.
Green shared her excitement for the track’s release, stating, “As soon as we wrote ‘Shadow of a Cowboy,’ I knew it was special. I spent the last year of my life writing song after song, trying to find my voice and then learning how to write it into my music. ‘Shadow of a Cowboy’ was one of the first songs that I felt I was able to do that. The words, the melodies, the high notes, the bridge… it all felt so much like me. I’m so grateful to my co-writers for helping me write a song that I love so much.”
This release comes on the heels of Green’s previous release, “Live Fast Die Pretty,” with critics noting how the track “shows great promise,” (Music Row).
