Taking a walk down memory lane with special guests for two special anniversary shows scheduled this Summer in Nashville and Franklin; Nashville special guests being announced in the coming weeks
NASHVILLE, TN – Platinum-selling country artist and Grammy-nominated songwriter Keith Anderson is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll, released on May 3, 2005. The album produced four charting singles, including the timeless hit “Pickin’ Wildflowers,” which continues to rack up more than 10 million Spotify streams annually.
To mark the anniversary, Anderson just announced two special performances in Nashville with a special stripped down acoustic show with the stories behind the songs at The Franklin Theatre on Friday, June 6. Just announced, Jeffrey Steel and Halfway to Hazard will join Anderson at The Franklin Theatre for a special show sharing the stories and the songs from the last two decades.
The high-energy full band show with Anderson playing all of the hits will be at Eric Church’s downtown Nashville venue, Chief’s, on Friday, August 9. Special guests for that show will be announced soon.
This milestone comes at a time when Anderson has started sharing more publicly about his journey that includes the loss of his parents and a difficult divorce that took his focus completely on making sure he had custody of his kids so he could be the best Dad possible. These moments took a toll on his physical and emotional health, which led to Anderson sharing his doctor-supervised weight loss program with Dr. Dixon at Harpeth Valley Health Center and has been candid about the transformation in interviews and on social media.
“There were days I didn’t recognize the guy in the mirror,” Anderson said. “I was carrying the weight of loss, stress and survival. This anniversary has been the reminder I needed to take care of myself, not just for me, but for my kids, my fans and the music that’s always been part of me.”
Since launching on TikTok in January, Anderson has connected with both longtime fans and a new generation. Through the comments on his most popular videos, he’s finding out that people not only play “Lost in This Moment” at their weddings, but they are also playing “PIckin’ Wildflowers” at their receptions. He wrote both of these songs with John Rich, as well as with Rodney Clawson for “Lost in This Moment” and Kim Williams for “Pickin’ Wildflowers”.
Fans have also flooded his inbox and comments with photos, stories and flashbacks. Many remember exactly when and where they saw Anderson perform, and they have the photos to prove it. At CMA Fest last year, fans brought printed photos, photos on t-shirts and digital photo albums from the early 2000s to show him how long they’ve been fans.
