“I’m more excited and nervous about this song than I have been with any other single,” said Walker of the release. “For me, it captures that feeling of heartbreak that we all understand, and I feel lucky to be a part of it.”
Inspired by the sounds of Haggard, Yoakum, Gary Allan and Garth Brooks, it was Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take the Girl” that inspired Walker to pursue country. “My brother would listen to that song while coping with the loss of his high school sweetheart. For the first time in my life, it wasn’t just words in a song. It was real life and I knew it was what I had to do with mine,” said the California native.
A roll over crash in his pickup that only he and his guitar survived further solidified his calling, and Walker made the move to Nashville, attending Middle Tennessee State while pursuing a career in music. Known for his unparalleled honesty and emotion in writing, Walker released single “Me Too” in 2017. The single went Top 30 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart and Top 40 on the Billboard Indicator Chart.
On the road, Walker has played dates with Kenny Chesney, Canaan Smith, Jana Kramer and Clint Black, among others.
When not doing music, Walker’s built a lucrative career in video production and animation. Self-taught, he’s worked on videos for Carrie Underwood (his video for “The Champion” just won a CMT Award for Female Video of the Year), Keith Urban, Elton John, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack, Kacey Musgraves, Rhonda Vincent, Miley Cyrus, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelson, Rosanne Cash and Emmylou Harris.
