Hit Singer-Songwriter’s First Album in 11 Years Marks 27th Anniversary of First Arista Records Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ace guitarist and hit singer/songwriter Lee Roy Parnell has released his first album in 11 years, Midnight Believer. The 10-track project has been released by Vector Recordings/BFD and is available for purchase at iTunes, Amazon, other digital music outlets, and where music is purchased.
“Midnight Believer is a natural progression for me. It’s honest and it’s authentic. We had the creative freedom to pull out all the stops. The grooves are deep. The lyrics are thought provoking and the whole record is seeping with Soul. I’m very satisfied and proud of this one!” states Lee Roy Parnell.
Parnell produced the album and co-wrote all 10 songs with award-winning songwriter Greg Barnhill. The moving song “Sunny Days” features a special guest appearance by The Fairfield Four. It marks the second time Parnell has collaborated with the gospel legends.
Midnight Believer is full of the soulful, guitar-driven, from the heart music Parnell is best known for. Releasing an album after 11 years gives proof to his mantra that “lifers don’t quit.”
“A fine writer blessed with a rich, soulful vocal delivery and a blistering array of guitar chops drawn almost equally from Texas blues, Memphis soul and Southern rock traditions.” – No Depression
“Parnell’s range of musical styles is equally impressive, covering blue-eyed soul, delta blues, road house rock, southern boogie, Texas swing, and gospel, sometimes covering some of these styles in the same song.” – Rock and Blues Muse
“The key to the album is those soft, sweet moments when Parnell gets to ride a laid-back rhythm, croon words of love, and lay down a few lyrical leads.” – AllMusic.com
