LOCASH Premiered New Music Video For “I Know Somebody”

90s-Themed Concept Video Set in Retro Skating Rink Follows Unconventional Couple’s Love Story, As Told by LOCASH

New Video Comes As “I Love This Life” Hit-Making Duo’s New Album, THE FIGHTERS, Hits Stores Friday, June 17

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – At its core, it’s the same story — boy meets girl and falls in love. But, chart-topping country music duo LOCASH has done something unexpected in their new music video for current Top 30 single, “I Know Somebody,” which premieres exclusively on LOCASH.CMT.com, CMT and CMT Music. The duo rewound the clock and set the love story in a small-town roller rink outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee — the year, 1998.

“We knew that we didn’t want to make a familiar girl-walks-into-a-bar kind of video. We have some fond childhood memories of hitting the roller rink with friends back in LA and something about that setting, and even that time period of the late 90s, fills us with nostalgia. We were stoked that Chris and Preston jumped on board with it. The guys caught the vision and really made it their own, tying the story together and bringing the energy with an awesome performance,” said Ry and Drew Cox, directors for “I Know Somebody.”

Set in Chattanooga, Tennessee with the signature Chattanooga Choo Choo making an appearance mid-way through, the cinematography of the video is more reminiscent of a movie than a traditional modern-day music video, with Chris Lucas and Preston Brust of the duo woven throughout the whole video with performance snapshots while telling the story of the on-screen couple.

Lucas and Brust look polished and smoldering in the new video, living out memories of their earlier days of being in high school and falling in love for the first time. “I love the retro concept of this video,” said Brust. “I think it’s a breath of fresh air in the midst of some of the more ‘predictable’ videos that are out there right now, and it fits what the lyrics of the song are saying so well,” he added.

Penned by grade-A songwriters Rhett Akins, Ross Copperman and Jeremy Stover, “I Know Somebody,” is gaining steam at country radio, currently Top 30 and climbing.

LOCASH performed their No. 2 Country Billboard top-charting single “I Love This Life” on the CMT Awards last week — their first major awards show performance. LOCASH, signed to Reviver Records, will also celebrate the release of their new album, The Fighters, in stores nationwide on Friday, June 17.
