Since the release of their critically acclaimed, self-titled album debut last summer, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, (bassist Corey McCormick, drummer Anthony LoGerfo and percussionist Tato Melgar) have maintained an intense tour schedule shredding festival stages and headlining their own shows across the U.S. and Europe. Their string of triumphant festival performances includes the Austin City Limits Festival, SXSW, numerous Outlaw Music Festival dates, Napa Valley’s BottleRock, New Orleans Jazz Fest, California’s Stagecoach and the XPoNential Festival in Camden, N.J.
Furthermore, the soulful country rockers made their Newport Folk Festival debut in July, about which Rolling Stone raved “Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real showed off the full range of their powers, they are quickly becoming one of the most exciting live acts out there today.” The band also found time to once again record with and support their mentor Neil Young – including another spectacular headlining performance at the Arroyo Seco Festival in Pasadena earlier this summer.
Their non-stop road work continues through the end of the year and includes Farm Aid 2018 on September 22nd in Hartford, CT and the just announced Outlaw Music Festival stop at the Hollywood Bowl on October 21st alongside Margo Price, Sturgill Simpson, Phil Lesh & Friends, Particle Kid and of course, Willie Nelson & Family.
In addition, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real are nominated for Band of the Year at this year’s Americana Music Awards and will perform at the ceremony in Nashville on September 12th. Fans can also catch the band’s stunning debut performance on PBS’ venerable Austin City Limits, when their episode (with Kacey Musgraves) premieres on Saturday, November 10th. Lastly, on October 5th, Lukas and the guys will make their major motion picture debut in the highly anticipated remake of Warner Bros’ A Star Is Born. Lukas co-wrote many of the film’s songs with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, and Lukas & Promise of the Real play Cooper’s band in the film. For more information, please visit lukasnelson.com.
