MACY MARTIN SUPPORTS GLOW WALK, TALKS MACY’S TOY BOX

Country Music Artist Performs for Make-A-Wish Foundation in Farmington, Missouri

Farmington, Mo. – Macy Martin was on-hand Saturday, Oct. 15 for Farmington’s Glow Walk benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, held at North County High School’s track. After a performance for participants, including area Make-A-Wish kid Braxton Gross, Martin took time to discuss the importance of giving back – drawing on experience from her own non-profit, Macy’s Toy Box.”The show was a blast, but my favorite part of the night was being able to talk to so many students that are in the exact place I was when I started Macy’s Toy Box,” said Martin. “Giving back through my own non-profit has been so fulfilling. The kids had so many great ideas on how to give back – I can’t wait to see what all they accomplish in the next few years.”

Martin’s performance was sponsored in part by local country station KYLS, Froggy 96, with the event coordinated by students and teachers from the local middle school. In addition to performing and speaking, Martin gave away autographed albums, photos, tees and other merchandise to participants as a ‘thank you’. The event also included a silent auction.

Macy’s Toy Box was started by Martin in 2005 when she was just seven years old. The organization collects new and gently used toys, as well as funds, for those less fortunate. To date, Macy’s Toy Box has donated to Make-A-Wish, St. Jude, Texas Children’s Hospital, The Bridge (Nashville) and several others.

Martin recently released her new single, “Heart Sleeve Soul”, which is currently #48 on the MusicRow Country Breakout chart. To learn more about Macy Martin go to macymartinmusic.com.
