Nashville, TN – The new music video for the Columbia Nashville’s singer/songwriter Maren Morris “80s Mercedes” premiered yesterday exclusively via Teen Vogue with the magazine that is written primarily for sophisticated young females touting “such a tune demands a feel-good music video to match.” Today the energetic new video is available everywhere.
The Alon Isocianu (Kelly Clarkson, Pentatonix) directed video was shot in Los Angeles using primarily green screen technology.
Going into the video treatment process, Maren had the vision for how she wanted the music video to reflect the energy of the song. What Alon Isocianu came to the table with matched what Morris had envisioned matching the electricity of the album cover of her critically acclaimed album, HERO.
“‘80s Mercedes’ was a music video in my mind from the day we wrote it” says Morris. “I wanted the visuals to feel really neon, hyper stylized and fun. Like a graphic novel on acid. Alon’s vision matched the song perfectly and I couldn’t picture a more fitting representation of the song!”
Furthermore, the music video includes one of Morris’ childhood friends whom Maren promised well before a decision was made to shoot the music video, that she would invite her friend to make a cameo, should a music video come to fruition for “80s Mercedes.” Morris held true to her word.
