Listen Here

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mark Jones is releasing a brand new single tomorrow, Fences.” Mark uses imagery in his talented songwriting to create the visual of building a wall around one’s heart due to past hurt. Describing himself as the fence, he goes on to tell about how weathered the fence is and how the hinges are worn, yet the fence remains strong and keeps him inside. With his strong vocals highlighting the lyrics of the song, he brings the listener in with a feeling we can all relate to. Pre-save and listen to “Fences” here!

Cause I ain’t good at mending fences
I’m good at burning bridges
What keeps you out is holding me here
Like the walls I built around my heart
When I threw away the broken part
So the memories in  my head would disappear

Fences is a song about symbolism. It represents how emotions can create barriers if allowed and how a fence can contain someone, or push others away. This song was my attempt at creating a parallel between a reluctance to change, but also the desire to be nurtured. The fence is a physical presence that can feel like a safety net, but ironically traps someone within their own perceptions,” says Mark.

Mark is a rising artist from the red dirt scene in Texas. With Americana, country and rock influences, Mark’s music cannot be put into one specific box.
